baalShare Help
- What is baalShare?
baalShare is Badley Ashton's digital file transfer technology. It is secured using SSL encryption technology, so you can be assured your confidential data is kept that way. Other services, especially FTP-based, are inherently unsecure as all data (including usernames and passwords) is sent in the clear and unencrypted. baalShare can be used to exchange files too large to be sent via e-mail. baalShare is wholly run and maintained within Badley Ashton premises, negating the need for third party file storage facilities. baaShare is very easy to use and mimics the behaviour of Windows Explorer.
- My logon doesn't work, where am I going wrong?
Your username and password is case sensitive so please ensure you follow your given logon details precisely. As you are authenticating within the Badley Ashton domain, you also need to ensure that you include the first part of the username given, along with the backslash.
- I don't have the logon details for my company, how do I re-request them?
If you or any other direct contact from your company does not know the username and password combination, you are welcome to re-request them by emailing baalshare@badley-ashton.co.uk - we will deal with your enquiry as quickly as possible.
- My file is taking a long time to download, why is this?
Many of the files being transferred by baalShare are very large and, as the transfer is via the Internet, may take a long time to complete. There may be bandwidth limitations based around your own Internet connecition, especially when you are uploading files. Check with your Internet provider if you are unsure.
- Web Browser compatibility
baalShare is a complex application and requires a modern Web Browser. It has been tested and works correctly in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7+, Mozilla FireFox and Apple Safari version 5+.
- Can I send you a file via baalShare?
Of course! Simply log on as normal and use the upload button.
- How can I download or upload multiple files?
When downloading you can right-click a complete subfolder on the right-hand side, or select multiple files using the shift or control keys on your keyboard. The Java downloader enables all files to be queued and downloaded automatically - this requires Java to be installed on your computer. Likewise, multiple file uploads can be achieved by using the Microsoft Silverlight uploader; this also needs to be installed on your computer.
- Are baalShare uploads/downloads resumable?
Yes, uploads via Silverlight and downloads via Java should be resumed if there is a break in the connection.
